This photo above was taken approximately one year ago today, at Muir Beach, CA. Just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, this beach is tucked away behind multi-million dollar mansions, narrow roads, and gorgeous redwood trees.

My then-boyfriend and I decided to take a vacation to San Francisco last summer and loved every bit of it. When we landed, our car rental rep hooked us up with a drop top BMW instead of the Toyota we planned for, and we hit the beautiful, winding roads in search of Muir Beach (and our happily ever after).

Fast forward to today: In the last twelve months, we have gotten married, moved to the Bay for my husband’s job, built a house, and gotten pregnant. Life comes at you fast…

No, seriously, life is similar to the pitching machines at batting cages: You walk in, you have the right gear on, so, you’re good…right? Then come the balls.

10mph (Marriage): “Ok I can do this!”

30mph (Moving across the country): “Um, ok, that wasn’t terrible. Bring it on!”

20mph (Building a house): “Alright, that’s more like it”

50mph (Getting Pregnant): “WTF! WHERE IS THE 40MPH?!”

I created this blog for you AND me to get by. I know, a little selfish, right? I had to create this, because life has so many twists and turns, just like those roads we cruised down a year ago. Grab some tea, and let’s chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly.

There are ups, downs, low points where all hope seems lost in this life, but FEAR NOT! I’m here to tell you: when you keep driving, (and praying that your rental car can handle hills), the sun peeks out, and you eventually find your beach.
